Would you like to become an investor in your own whisky barrel? But you lack the necessary contacts and expertise and a whole barrel is a bit much.

Then you are exactly right here.

The clan focuses on a younger generation of independent distilleries with a sustainable and innovative approach to whisky production. They experiment with different barrels, barrel maturations, and production processes to create unique flavor profiles. McWey maintains personal contact with the producers and visits the distilleries on site whenever possible.

It is above all a matter of the heart, but of course at the end of the maturation process there should also be a decent return in the form of liquid gold or money for the investors.

In the clan, we will follow the maturation of the whiskies together by means of barrel samples and after a period of 5 to 10 years we will bottle or sell the barrels for the clan and the investors.

For the 30th anniversary of the Lochranza Distillery, Arran Distillers were able to acquire thirty old and very well-preserved oak casks in Spain. These were formerly filled with Palo Cartado, one of the rarest and most revered sherries, created from the unique fusion of the delicate flor yeast maturation of Fino and the oxidative richness of Oloroso.

The barrels were completely sold out within a few days and will be filled with new make from the Lochranza Distillery on August 15, 2025, exactly 30 years after the first barrel was filled.

McWey was able to secure one of the barrels and is offering his clan members the opportunity to purchase a share of the barrel. Come along on this exciting journey!

McWey becomes a whisky bonder! As part of the first McWey Swiss Whisky project, New Make from Saentis Malt was filled into a barrique pre-coated with Pinot Noir by Nadine Saxer Weine at the beginning of the year. We are proud, but also very excited to see how the whisky will develop in the cellars of Säntis Malt over the next few years. We will regularly test the liquid gold on the basis of barrel samples and on site. We can expect a whisky with fruity, vinous notes.

Something new for the clan members who would like to secure a package with two half liter bottles at cask strength for the future. Thanks to the small cask size and the special climatic conditions in Lahti, the whisky is ready to drink just three to four years after the filling in the cask. In 2020 and 2024, Teerempeli won the Worldwide Whisky Producer Award from the renowned IWSC and the distillery is also a pioneer in sustainable production.

Lindores Abbey, the spiritual home of Scotch whisky! Hardly any other whisky distillery stands on such historic ground as the new Lindores Abbey Distillery. The reason for this can be found in the Exchequer Rolls dating back to 1494. These records state that the Benedictine monk Friar John Cor, from Lindores Abbey, was commissioned by the king to produce aqua vitae from eight bushels of malt.

The only cask in McWey's portfolio that we did not purchase directly from a distillery, but from the independent bottler, the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. Distilled at a renowned distillery on the Isle of Mull, the cask will be bottled after 10 years with a personalised label to mark the 50th anniversary of the SMWS in 2033.
